Census Pulse survey finds diverging views on ‘return to normal’ timing; input costs climb; starts dive

Construction firms reported diverging views over the past month about when business will “return to its normal level of operations relative to one year ago,” based on results from Census’s latest weekly Small Business Pulse Survey, released on Thursday with responses from October 4 to 12.

September residential employment, August spending climb while nonresidential side stalls

Nonfarm payroll construction employment, seasonally adjusted, increased in September by 26,000 to a total of 7,245,000, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported

AGC CEO Named to IBR's First "Commercial Real Estate Power 25" List

The Idaho Business Review  just released a new publication, a list of 25 power leaders in the commercial real estate community.  "Power--it's an ineffable quality with a number of facets, including reputation, influence, clout, and charisma," says IBR editor Kim Burgess.  Making an appearance on the list is none other than Idaho AGC's very own CEO, Wayne Hammon.

City of Boise Announces NEW Small Business Grant Program

Attention Boise-based Idaho AGC Members:

As you know, construction has been directly impacted by the ongoing pandemic. For small businesses in Boise (those with less than 100 employees), the City of Boise just announced a new Small Business Grant Program that is another resource assistance fund for eligible businesses.
 
Funding for this program was made available by Governor Little’s Coronavirus Financial Advisory Committee, enabling cities and counties to provide aid within their community. The Grant Program launched today, September 16th at 8:00am. The guidelines to be eligible are as follows:
