Boise, Idaho — The Idaho Associated General Contractors (AGC), Idaho’s most influential voice for the commercial construction industry, proudly announces the addition of Will Smith as its new Deputy Director of Government Relations.
A native of Idaho and a graduate of Boise State University, Smith brings with him years of hands-on lobbying experience from two of Idaho’s top-tier contract government relations firms. His expertise in statehouse advocacy and construction policy has earned him a reputation as a trusted voice and tireless advocate for industry stakeholders.
In this new role, Smith will lead AGC’s government relations efforts on behalf of specialty contractors – including electricians, excavators, plumbers, and other essential subcontractors who comprise the majority of Idaho AGC’s robust membership base. He will represent their interests in front of trade-specific regulatory boards, legislative bodies, and public forums across the state. Smith’s addition expands an already formidable state government relations team, further strengthening AGC’s influence and impact across Idaho.
“All of us involved in construction understand that the specialty contractor is the key to success on any job site,” said Jared Wise, President of Idaho AGC and General Manager of CR Concrete. “The Idaho AGC is the state’s largest subcontractor organization and adding a lobbyist dedicated solely to their needs is a bold move that reflects AGC’s commitment to championing every corner of the industry.”
“These men and women are the hard-working backbone of the industry,” said Smith. “I’m honored to bring my skills and relationships to the Idaho AGC, working directly on behalf of the tradespeople who are literally building Idaho’s future.”
Now in its 91st year, the Idaho AGC remains the state’s most trusted and effective construction industry advocate. With more than 740 member firms, it is recognized nationally as one of the largest and most impactful chapters of the Associated General Contractors of America. Through relentless advocacy, thought leadership, and a deep connection to Idaho’s business and policy landscape, the Idaho AGC continues to set the standard for industry representation.
