D.C., 39 states add construction jobs through May; Dodge finds starts jump 10% from April

Seasonally adjusted construction employment rose from May 2018 to May 2019 in 39 states and the District of Columbia, declined in 10 states and remained unchanged in Kansas, an AGC analysis of Bureau of Labor Statistics

Construction adds few jobs in May as unemployment hits new low, openings reach peak

Nonfarm payroll employment in May increased by 75,000, seasonally adjusted, from April and by 2,350,000 (1.6%) year-over-year (y/y) from May 2018, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)

Touch A Truck: Saturday, June 15th!

The Children's Museum of Idaho is hosting a "Touch a Truck" event on Saturday, June 15th!  

Get up close, see, and touch an Ada County Highway District sweeper, paint striper, vactor truck, dump truck, and bucket truck.  Additionally, Campbell Tractor will feature a John Deere tractor and Valley Ride is bringing a bus!  

Construction spending grows, aside from single-family; employment rises in 70% of metros

         Construction spending totaled $1.299 trillion at a seasonally adjusted annual rate in April, equal to the upwardly revised March rate but down 1.2% from April 2018, the Census Bureau 

Idaho AGC to Produce Industry Magazine!

Dear Idaho AGC member, 

The Idaho AGC is gearing up to publish its inaugural issue of the Idaho Associated General Contractors publication (yet to be named!). This bi-annual magazine will be an interesting read and reference for any member, individual in the industry, or resident of Idaho.

The anticipated articles will include a complete overview of construction in Idaho as well as key topics of interest and magnitude to our industry, including initiatives, programs, product and technology updates, and goings-on at the Idaho AGC.
