Omega Morgan has recently opened a new location in Boise, Idaho, allowing the Pacific Northwest’s largest provider of heavy equipment moving and industrial services to expand its ability to serve customers across the western United States.
On this edition of Words WIth Wayne, we meet with Dr. Casey Cline, BSU CM Chair, to discuss the new Construction Management LAB building project and how YOU can get involved.
The Boise State Construction Management Department is working on an expansion project for the Construction Management Lab.
The new building on campus will replace the existing outdated CM lab, and will include a student collaboration area, a 45-seat computer lab with construction technology, classroom space, a communal break room, and open-air access to an outside learning area. The lab will also have a high bay structure, which will allow for an overhead crane, a separate area for equipment and hazardous material storage, and a new roof and exterior skin, making it a standout architectural piece on campus.
The AGC Education and Research Foundation offers Workforce Development Scholarships to students enrolled in accredited technical schools or craft training programs in any discipline of construction.
As the U.S. economy shifts from manufacturing to knowledge-based, there has been a corresponding shift in interest in establishing educational programs designed to prepare students for college. The consequence has been the overwhelming impression among youths, their parents, and teachers that a career and technical education is unacceptable, despite the fact construction jobs often pay better than many post-college options, especially post-downturn.
This scholarship was started thanks to a generous donation from NCCER and its Build our Future initiative.
