Top Tip: So what’s next? Recruitment plan for 2016

We realize that most have made their plans for 2016, but for those that haven’t, it’s never too late.  Preparation for 2016 means looking at your company's goals from a new way. Should your recruitment strategy plan for a few openings or should it plan for growth? Here are some tips that can help you excel in 2016:

  • Have you put an employee referral program in place? Your employees know the kind of people you want to hire and they’ll have the best feel for if someone they know is a fit with your company culture.
  • Are you sharing your jobs with high schools, trade schools and universities? If you have a referral network set up, be sure to update any new contacts and remove irrelevant ones.
  • Have you been building an employer brand on social media? Make sure your profiles are current and portraying you consistently – this will benefit both customers and potential employees. You may also want to think about any additional social sites, but remember quality counts!
  • When was the last time you looked at your job templates? Now is a great time to look through your job templates and make sure the job descriptions aren’t missing any new responsibilities or benefits for
    that position.
  • How successful was your recruitment plan in 2015? Look at your analytics to see what sources brought in candidates for each position and maybe what sources didn’t work so well. You’ll know what you should continue doing, stop doing or start doing.

Are there more ways we can help your recruitment strategy? Do you need more control over the process?  If you haven’t talked to your account manager in a while, he or she would be happy to work with you to develop a strategy for 2016.  You can contact the BirdDogHR customer care team at customercare@birddoghr.com or call 888-482-7021.
